Our current budget overall for Project Newton is £875,000. This will be refined as we define more closely what will be involved.
We received an initial grant from the Heritage Fund of £83,000 in 2019. This, with savings from previous events and fundraising, will cover all the professional costs until the end of 2020. At that point we will submit another grant application to the Heritage Fund for a significant element of the required capital funding.
Much of the VAT may be recoverable under the Listed Places of Worship Scheme – we are investigating this possibility.
We are also now applying to grant giving bodies and the community for the balance of the funds required, which is likely to be in the region of £295,000. We have already secured £58,000 from a local charitable trust.
